Bayern Munich are interested in signing Manchester City left-back Aleksandar Kolarov, who is entering the final year of his contract, according to the Daily
Manager Josep Guardiola could see Kolarov as potential competition for highly-rated Austrian David Alaba for the Bayern left-back slot, and with just a year to go in his current deal at the Etihad Stadium, Man City may be willing to cash in on the Serb rather than allow him to leave for free next summer.
Kolarov made the move to Man City for £19m in the summer of 2010, shortly after representing Serbia at that year’s World Cup. He has since vied with Gael Clichy to become first-choice left-back. He had the upper hand over the Frenchman last season, earning 44 appearances in Manuel Pellegrini’s first season in charge.
During his time with the club, Kolarov has won the Premier League on two occasions, as well as the FA Cup and the Capital One Cup, and Bayern are not the only side interested in him, with the top two in Serie A last season, Juventus and Roma, both keen on the 28-year-old.
