Cazorla: Fabregas should make Arsenal move

Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has said he would love Spanish counterpart Cesc Fabregas to make a return to Arsenal, although the midfielder is currently being strongly linked with a move to rivals Chelsea, Football-Espana has reported.

The Gunners aren’t thought to hold major interest in resigning the player they sold to Barcelona in 2011 for £35m having indicated they will pass on their first option to resign the player.

With Fabregas available for a mooted £30m Cazorla has revealed he would welcome his international colleague to the club.

Cazorla told Spanish paper Marca: “I’ve read that Cesc could go to Chelsea. I’d rather he came to Arsenal.

“He has given a lot to the club and I wish that he is happy. He’ll choose the right club and be comfortable.”

Fabregas joined Arsenal as a 15 year old back in 2003 and made a total of 305 appearances and scored 59 goals.

For Barcelona he has scored 35 goals in 129 appearances for his boyhood club, and has accounted for the most assists in La Liga over the past two seasons.

While Fabregas has two years left on his current five year deal he has fallen down the pecking order at the Nou Camp with their being a succession of changes in recent years at the club.

Manchester United failed in two bids last summer to bring the midfielder to Old Trafford.
