Liverpool’s attempts to sign Sevilla’s Alberto Moreno have hit a stumbling block over the transfer fee, ESPN
The clubs have been discussion over the proposed transfer to Anfield of the 21-year-old full back, with a fee of £18 million being discussed. However, it is thought that Sevilla want the majority of the fee immediately, while Liverpool are keen to negotiate what they feel is a more reasonable fee and payment plan.
Reports in the Spanish media had suggested that terms had already been agreed and that Moreno would shortly be arriving on Merseyside to undergo a medical and complete his move, however these have been dismissed as premature.
But Liverpool boss Brendan Rogers is keen to land the player, and the clubs will continue their talks in an attempt to settle a deal agreeable to all parties.
Moreno is a talented prospect who has already made three appearances for the Spanish national team after making his debut last year in a World Cup qualifier against Georgia. He was included in Vicente Del Bosque’s initial 30-man squad for the finals in Brazil, but failed to make the final cut.
