Nacho Monreal has been linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer, according to the Daily
Arsene Wenger has already seen Bacary Sagna run down his contract and join Manchester City on a free, while Thomas Vermaelen has reportedly moved closer to joining another league rival in Manchester United.
Monreal has been subject of interest from Athletic Bilbao who qualified for the Champions League last season – although they have said they will give the squad that got them there a chance to shine in the competition.
The Spanish full back joined the gunners for around £8m back in January 2011 from Malaga but has spent much of his time as back up to Kieran Gibbs, making just 47 appearances to date.
However any potential deal hangs on whether the Spanish side can agree a bargain price or loan deal, to avoid upsetting their players.
Yet with another defender linked away from Arsenal a worrying trend has emerged for Arsene Wenger, who will need to find replacements before the start of the season.
