Sevilla will let Moreno join Liverpool

Sevilla have confirmed left-back Alberto Moreno can join Liverpool but only if the Reds make the right offer, ESPN has reported.

Jose Castro, the President of the Spanish club, has said that he is aware of Brendan Rodgers’ interest in the player but the ball is in Liverpool’s court as to what happens next. “It’s true that there’s interest from Liverpool and we’re waiting to see if that turns into a reality, which right now, it isn’t,” he added.

“What I’m clear about is that we’ll not force anyone to stay at Sevilla. Whoever wants to leave can do so, but we’ll be the ones setting the prices,” Castro continued. “This club is experiencing a time of economic stability and we don’t need to sell. We’re going to be firm about this and we’ll only consider selling outside the market, which gives us the opportunity to make our team competitive.”

Moreno was named in Spain’s preliminary 30-man squad for the World Cup but was among those cut from the final 23 by Coach Vicente Del Bosque. La Roja, the defending champions, get their tournament underway against beaten 2010 finalists the Netherlands on June 13.

The 21-year-old Moreno has three international caps to his name and was part of the Sevilla side that won the Europa League this season.
