Tottenham face competition for Cambiasso

Tottenham Hotspur target Esteban Cambiasso has a number of offers after leaving Inter, according to the Daily Mail.

Cambiasso is to leave San Siro this summer when his contract expires, 10 years after he moved to the club from Real Madrid. He made more than 400 appearances for the Nerazzurri, winning five Serie A titles, the Champions League, four Coppa Italias, four Supercoppas and the Club World Cup.

The 33-year-old has confirmed he intends to remain in European football after links with former club River Plate and Cambiasso revealed he has heard from a host of interested parties. “My career for the time being is still in Europe,” he said. “I have several proposals from big clubs but as a sign of respect for them I will not reveal the negotiations that my father and my brother are undertaking. My future is very far from Argentina.”

Cambiasso began his career at Independiente, moving to River Plate in 2001 after around 100 appearances for his first club. He spent only a season at River Plate before switching to Madrid, and in two years at Santiago Bernabeu the midfielder claimed a Spanish title, the Intercontinental Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the Supercopa.
