The Argentine is keen to recruit his former English charges as Southampton struggle to stave off a potential mass exodus from the club.
With Rickie Lambert having already departed for Liverpool and Adam Lallana under serious interest, duo Clyne and Rodriguez could also be on their way out.
The Saints have confirmed bids for ‘players’ have been recieved in recent weeks but have stressed that there is no need for the club to accept and sell any of their star players.
A statement read: “We are staying true to our plan and vision and, as a result, we have no need to accept any offers.”
While Rodriguez is currently recovering from a cruciate ligament knee injury the 24-year-old is still attracting interest from Liverpool and the likes of Arsenal.
The two clubs are also interested full back Clyne, who is seen as a successor to Glen Johnson and also a replacement for the departed Bacary Sagna.
However Tottenham hope that Pochettino can be a big enough factor to steal a march on their rivals for the two players.
