Aston Villa are set a make a move to sign Chelsea winger Victor Moses on a season-long loan as they look to strengthen their squad, according to the Daily
The 23-year-old made over 40 appearances in his first season at Chelsea after joining from Wigan Athletic in August 2012. However, he has barely figured in Jose Mourinho’s plans since the Portuguese returned for a second spell as manager at Stamford Bridge last summer, and was sent out on loan to Liverpool.
Despite the move to Merseyside, Moses still struggled for regular football as he found it difficult to start ahead of likes of Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling. Overall he made just 22 appearances, with a number of those coming from the bench.
Paul Lambert is now hoping to bring Moses to Villa Park and hand him a fresh start, but several other clubs have registered an interest. The final decision rests with Mourinho, but Villa will be optimistic after loaning Ryan Bertrand from Chelsea in the second half of last season.
The West Midlands club are also keen on signing Swansea City midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng, who spent last season on loan at Sunderland. He is valued at around £4m, but Villa owner Randy Lerner has assured Lambert that he will provide funds for the deal, despite his intention to sell the club.
