Former Chelsea star Ashley Cole has landed in Rome as he prepares for talks with Roma over a potential two year deal at the club, the Daily
Cole found himself a free agent this summer after Chelsea decided against renewing his contract after eight years at Stamford Bridge, but has not been short of interest from clubs across the world.
The likes of Barcelona, AC Milan and Monaco have all been credited with an interest in the left back, but he has chosen to head to the Italian capital ahead of discussions over a potential deal.
While Italian media are reporting that Cole has already agreed to sign a two year deal with the Serie A giants there is yet to be official word of any contract.
However Roma’s official Twitter page posted a picture of the former English international, who retired from the national set up after missing out on the World Cup squad this summer, after he arrived at Rome airport stating “Welcome to Rome, Ashley”.
Cole enjoyed a glittering career at Chelsea, winning nine trophies including the Premier League and Champions League, while also reaching 107 caps for his country.
