Coman turned down Arsenal for Juventus

Juventus new-boy Kingsley Coman has revealed he rejected offers from a number of Premier League clubs – including Arsenal – to move to Serie A, Sky Sports has reported.

Coman has completed a transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to the Serie A title winners and claims to have snubbed the Gunners, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur after turning down an offer of a new contract from PSG.

“There were Newcastle, Arsenal and Tottenham interested in me too,” he told Italian publication Corriere dello Sport. “But I have chosen Juventus because I love their history. This was the club of [Michel] Platini, [Zinidine] Zidane and [David] Trezeguet.”

Coman has been compared to compatriot Paul Pogba, who rejected a new deal with Manchester United to make the move to Turin. He made only three appearances for the PSG first team, but the midfielder has featured regularly at youth level for France and broke into the Under-21s this year, scoring on his debut against Singapore in June.

His PSG debut came in February 2013, making him the club’s youngest-ever player, aged 16 years, eight months and four days at the time of his inaugural appearance.
