Crystal Palace have set their sights on trying to sign Tottenham attacking midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson, and are poised to make an £8m bid, according to the Daily
Sigurdsson is also linked with a return to former club Swansea City, where he enjoyed a successful loan spell in the second half of the 2011-12 season. Tottenham were reportedly willing to allow Sigurdsson to leave for South Wales in a deal which would see goalkeeper Michel Vorm and left-back Ben Davies move in the opposite direction.
However, Eagles boss Tony Pulis is willing to match Tottenham’s asking price for the Icelander, as he looks to add goals to his midfield. Pulis is also said to be closing in on a deal to sign Cardiff City duo Fraizer Campbell and Steven Caulker.
The 24-year-old Sigurdsson has failed to totally establish himself as a first-team regular since making the move to White Hart Lane from German club Hoffenheim in the summer of 2012. He has helped them to two top six Premier League finishes, and the quarter-finals of the Europa League in 2013, scoring 13 goals in 83 appearances.
