Arsenal could complete the signing of Newcastle right back Mathieu Debuchy once the World Cup has concluded, the Daily
The right back has been linked with the Gunners throughout the World cup but had been moving to play down speculation, until dropping a hint he could be leaving the Magpies after admitting to missing Champions League football.
And now a fee of around £12m is thought to have been settled between the two clubs.
The 28-year-old has been one of the few consistent performers at St James’ Park in recent years, having arrived as part of the large French influx into the club.
He has made 46 appearances in the black and white stripes, but could well be on his way to North London.
The potential signing will be a huge boost for Arsenal fans, having already seen Bacary Sagna agree a free transfer to rivals Manchester City – Debuchy is in fact keeping Sagna out of the France first XI at the World Cup.
