Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani has insisted that his club has received no transfer offers from Arsenal for striker Mario Balotelli, Sky
Rumours on Sunday had suggested that the two clubs had agreed on a fee of £15.8m, with Balotelli having been linked with a move to the North London club throughout the summer. Arsenal have already signed Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez, but they are still said to retain an interest in the Italian.
Balotelli is reportedly looking to move on after a frustrating first full season with Milan, where the club struggled to a mid-table finish and failed to qualify for European football as a result. Despite Arsenal’s interest, Galliani is adamant that no formal bids have been made. “We have not received any offer (for Balotelli) and at this time, there is nothing from Arsenal,” he said.
The 23-year-old former Manchester City star is still on holiday after representing his country during their disappointing World Cup campaign. He is expected to link up with his teammates in the coming days to take part in Milan’s pre-season tour of the United States.
