QPR striker Loic Remy has flown to Boston to undergo a medical ahead of his proposed move to Premier League runners up Liverpool as they continue to strengthen their squad, Sky
The France international travelled to America where the Reds are currently on preseason tour after an £8.5m fee was agreed for his services – and the deal should be completed by Thursday.
Remy was part of the French World Cup squad this summer as they were knocked out in the quarter finals by eventual winners Germany and upon his return has found the release clause in his contract met by Liverpool.
Having impressed when he first arrived in the Premier League from Marseille in January of 2013, scoring six goals in 14 appearances, he spent last season on loan at Newcastle following QPR’s relegation.
In Newcastle colours the Frenchman bagged himself an impressive 14 goals in 26 games during a campaign disrupted by injury – with this form repeatedly linking him with a move away during this summer.
And it appears this speculation has come to fruition after Liverpool met a clause stating a Champions League club must pay the full £8.5m.
Remy joins Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Emre Can and Lazar Markovic as manager Brendan Rodger’s summer recruits as theyplan to mount a renewed challenge for the title without the help of Uruguayan star Luis Suarez, who completed moved to Barcelona.
