Interest in Manchester City’s Jack Rodwell is growing, and Football
Rodwell has seen his chances limited at Man City, either by being over looked or a series of injuries keeping him out of the picture.
He has made just 26 first team appearances since leaving boyhood club Everton in a £12m deal but a lack of first team football could well see the youngster turn elsewhere in an attempt to regain his form and fitness.
And while domestic interest is strong in the midfielder – Everton, Tottenham, Hull and West Brom are all teams in the ever growing rumour mill with a credited interest, it seems that Spain could be another destination for the 23-year-old.
Villarreal and Valencia finished just two places apart in La Liga last term but were separated by ten points – Villarreal did finish just four points shy of fifth place and a sixth placed finish was good enough for Europa League football next term – something that could give them the edge of their domestic rivals.
Rodwell had been widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects in the Premier League during his time at the Toffees, making 109 appearances at the Merseyside club, but has seen his development slow as a result of the differing factors at City.
And with the Etihad side signing Brazilian midfielder Fernando from Porto FC he could find himself at a new club come the start of the season.
