Tottenham have joined the race to sign Toulouse and Ivory Coast right-back Serge Aurier, who has emerged as a target for bitter rivals Arsenal in recent months, according to the Daily
The 21-year-old is expected to move clubs this summer after two and-a-half years with Toulouse in which he has made 80 appearances and scored eight goals. The Emirates Stadium seemed certain to be his destination just weeks ago, but Arsenal have so far failed to agree a fee with the French club.
The Gunners are looking for a new right-back this summer to replace the recently departed Bacary Sagna, although their North London neighbours have made overhauling their defence their biggest priority this summer.
Ben Davies is set to arrive from Swansea City to fill the left-back role, while new boss Mauricio Pochettino has concerns over the fitness of Kyle Walker, who is still recovering from a pelvic injury, hence the Argentine’s interest in Aurier.
Marseille are also said to hold an interest in Aurier, who was an impressive performer for the Ivory Coast at the World Cup despite their exit at the group stage.
