Juventus midfielder Mauricio Isla is expected to undergo a medical on Sunday ahead of move to Queens Park Rangers on loan with a view to a permanent deal, Sky
Isla has fallen considerably down the pecking order at Juventus, and as a result made just 18 appearances in Serie A last season as the Turin side cruised to the title. However, he did go on to be a key player for Chile at the World Cup alongside club teammate Arturo Vidal, impressing in the holding role before their elimination at the hands of hosts Brazil.
QPR boss Harry Redknapp has been keen to strengthen his side’s midfield ahead of their return to the Premier League, and will see Isla as something of a coup. So far, only central defensive duo Steven Caulker and Rio Ferdinand have made the move to Loftus Road.
Confirming the deal, Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta said: “Isla will have his medical in England, as a deal has been reached with QPR. We have already reached an agreement with the English club and the player has given his availability, it will be a loan with right of a permanent deal.”
