Man Utd will turn poor start around says Rooney

Manchester United have endured an indifferent start to the premier League this season but striker Wayne Rooney believes they will come good, according to Sky Sports.

New boss Louis van Gaal has enjoyed mixed fortunes as an inconsistent start has left the club in a lowly 12th place in the early league table.

In their latest outing United twice let a two goal lead slip to be felled 5-3 by newly promoted side Leicester to add to the humbling cup defeat by MK Dons and opening home loss to Swansea.

Many had expected the new manager to turn fortunes around at the club following the turbulent spell overseen by David Moyes, but it has been a slow start after a huge overhaul of the squad and big money acquisitions of Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, Angel Di Maria, Radamel Falcao, Daley Blind and Macus Rojo.

But the England captain, also made captain of United by Van Gaal, believes the team will turn their current frustrations around, despite those who doubt them and an eight point gap to leaders Chelsea.

Rooney wrote on his Facebook page: “There seems to be a lot of people who have written us off because of Sunday’s result but I don’t see it that way.

“When I look around our dressing room and see the quality we have and the manager’s unbelievable attention to detail, I have no doubts this team will be successful.”
