Defender Jonny Evans is to undergo a scan on the leg injury suffered during Manchester United’s 5-3 defeat at the hands of Leicester, the BBC
Having attempted to block a shot from Leicester City striker Leonardo Ulloa the Northern Ireland international hobbled off the pitch in the closing stages of the first half.
However, the extent of the injury is not yet known and United will have to await the results of the scan before determining if and for how long the 26-year-old will be out for.
Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal confirmed after the game: “I do not know how bad it is, we will have to have a scan on Monday.”
The knock will also be a worry to Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill who will want the defender fit for their Euro 2016 qualifier against the Faroe Irelands on 11th of Octiber.
With Evans potentially injured and Tyler Blackett also suspended following his red card United have a slight defensive headache.
Phil Jones is also currently side lined whilst new signing Luke Shaw is still yet to feature for the club having picked up a hamstring injury before the start of the campaign.
Fellow new recruit Marcus Rojo did not make his debut until the club’s 4-0 win over QPR following work permit issues and will still be bedding into the squad.
