And Mourinho confirmed there were no problems in his medical for the Blues and could not understand why the club pulled out of a move for the former Queens Park Rangers man.

“The final conclusion (of Chelsea’s medical) was the same conclusion that the France federation medical department had before the World Cup, which was that the player has no problems and can play football.”
The 27-year-old joined in a £10.5m move from QPR this summer having made just 15 appearances for the club in the Premier League, but did manage to score six goals in this short time.
With QPR suffering relegation Remy joined up with Newcastle on a season long loan last term and again impressed with his ability in front of goal, grabbing 14 goals in 26 league games despite suffering a lengthy injury lay off.
