Queens Park Rangers have completed a deal to sign Tottenham midfielder Sandro, with the Brazilian making the short move across London on transfer deadline day to reunite with former boss Harry Redknapp, writes BBC
Redknapp brought Sandro to England in 2010 when he was the manager at White Hart Lane, and he went on to make 106 appearances, scoring three goals. Due to the significant competition for a place in the Tottenham midfield this season, the duo have been allowed to reunite, with the 25-year-old signing a three-year contract.
Sandro has only made one appearance this season, playing 78 minutes of the second leg of Tottenham’s Europa League qualifier against AEL Limassol. The rest of the time, he has found himself behind Nabil Bentaleb, Etienne Capoue and Mousa Dembele and manager Mauricio Pochettino’s thinking.
Niko Kranjcar has also agreed to rejoin Harry Redknapp, with the pair having worked together at Portsmouth and Tottenham, as well as with QPR last season, with the Croat helping them to promotion.
Upon returning to Loftus Road, he said: “The fans were phenomenal last season. I had a great relationship with them and hopefully it’s only going to get better. I really feel happy here, at a club where I really want to play, and I play with all my heart.”
