Tottenham winger Lennon aiming to rebuild career

Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon is hoping to rebuild his reputation at the club after he rejected a move to Queens Park Rangers on transfer deadline day, according to the Daily Telegraph.

A deal had been agreed between the two clubs for Lennon to move on loan to Loftus Road, only for the player to turn down the chance to move across to West London and join former Spurs teammates Sandro and Niko Kranjcar in reuniting with R’s manager Harry Redknapp.

For most of his time at Tottenham, who he joined after coming through the youth system at Leeds United, Lennon has been a regular fixture in the starting XI, but since the beginning of last season he has struggled to force his way into the team, particularly in the Premier League.

That is mainly due to the competition for places, with Erik Lamela having found favour so far this season as well as Nacer Chadli, while Andros Townsend is still part of the team. Lennon has been named in the 25-man Tottenham squad for this season, but will reassess his future in January and may decide to move on then, should he struggle to gain regular football.
