Kolo Toure is confident Liverpool will put in some error-free performances, starting against Everton in the weekend’s Merseyside derby, ESPN
The Reds have struggled at the start of the new Premier League season after ending last year as runners-up to Manchester City, losing three out of their first five games and needing a marathon penalty shootout to beat Middlesbrough in the Capital One Cup.
Toure converted his penalty, one of 30 in a 14-13 final tally, and believes the side will learn from what’s gone wrong in previous games and put the Toffees to the sword again once more.
“We will learn from our mistakes and prepare for what we know will be a tough game,” the former Arsenal and Manchester City defender said. “We beat them 4-0 here last season and I am sure they will know we are really quick going forward.
“It will be a tight game but we’re at home and we’ll look to go out fast,” Toure continued. “We know winning this one would make a big difference. There’s a lot riding on it and we need the three points. We can’t think about any other games coming up, we need to focus on Everton and give everything to this game.”
Toure moved to Anfield last summer, making 24 appearances in his first year under Brendan Rodgers, while his outing against Championship ‘Boro was his first appearance of the new season.
