Manchester United are ready to break the bank in order to bring fans’ favourite Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford, according to The
The Red Devils are reportedly preparing an offer of a £300,000 a week contract for their former player, which would make him one of the highest paid stars in the game.
Ronaldo is on a £290,000 a week deal with his current club Real Madrid, but in recent times soaring wages have seen other players reach a similar level of earning power, which may open the possibility for Ronaldo to increase his salary.
It is no secret that the 29-year-old would welcome a move back to United. He said recently: “Everyone knows that – I have said it many times. Manchester is in my heart. I left many good friends there, the supporters are amazing and I wish I can come back one day.”
United are said to be set to offer Real £60 million for his services, but whether or not the Madrid giants are prepared to sell one of the prized assets is a different story. They have recently made public statements to the effect that they will not sell to United or Chelsea, but then every player has his price.
Ronaldo began his career with Sporting Lisbon before spending six highly successful seasons at Old Trafford, scoring 117 goals in 290 games for the Red Devils before his move to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium for an eye-watering £80 million in 2009.
