Wilfried Zaha refusing to give up on Man Utd career

Wilfried Zaha was loaned back to previous club Crystal Palace having failed to start a single game in Manchester United colours, but insists he has not given up on a career at Old Trafford, the Daily Star is reporting.

Having been signed by Sir Alex Ferguson the winger was immediately loaned back to Palace for the remainder of the 2012/13 season, before arriving at Old Trafford in the summer.

He returned to the new and now disastrous reign of David Moyes that saw him barely used and eventually shipped out to Cardiff on loan for the remainder of last season.

This season has seen him return to Palace on loan but the England winger is determined to prove his worth to new boss Louis van Gaal.

Zaha said: “I signed for a couple of years at United so the goal is to do my best here for the season and go back and make sure I get back into the team and the England set-up.

“It is just great to be playing again. There is nothing like being out on the pitch and the crowd singing your name.”

During his first stint at Palace the 21-year-old made 143 appearances for the Eagles and scored 18 goals.

In his first appearance this season Zaha was used as a 70th minute substitute but managed to grab the decisive 95th minute equaliser on his second debut for the club during their 3-3 draw at Newcastle.
