Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger isn’t expected to be punished for appearing to shove Chelsea counterpart Jose Mourinho during the Gunners’ defeat against the Premier League leaders, ESPN
Wenger and Mourinho were involved in an incident in response to Gary Cahill’s challenge on Alexis Sanchez , the Frenchman confronting the Portuguese before fourth official Jon Moss intervened. Both managers downplayed the set-to in their post-match press conferences, however, and referee Martin Atkinson spoke with them both in the aftermath.
It’s expected that Atkinson’s actions will see the Football Association regard the matter settled, unless he mentions something more in his match report. The clubs will though hear from the FA regarding the delayed kick-off, the start time pushed back 15 minutes after a flare was let off outside the away supporters’ turnstiles.
Chelsea won the match 2-0 through goals from Eden Hazard, a penalty after he was fouled by Laurent Koscielny, and Diego Costa. The Blues remain unbeaten at the top of the table, while Arsenal are eighth, nine points behind their London rivals.
