Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits he’s in the dark over the scale of Laurent Koscielny’s injury, reports Sky
The French international, 29, missed Arsenal’s 2-2 draw to Hull City last weekend, and the Gunners’ 2-1 away win against Anderlecht in the midweek Champions League fixture, and according to Wenger he could well be out of action for their next three league games.
“I cannot give you any date. I hope he will be available after the next international break (middle of November),” said the long-serving coach.
Last season, Koscielny built on his formidable partnership with Per Mertesacker at the heart of the Arsenal defence, with the Gunners boasting the second-best defensive record in the Premier League. But this campaign, the Londoners have kept only one clean sheet from their eight league outings, conceding 11 goals in the process.
Koscielny’s absence has meant Arsenal have been playing a makeshift defence due to the lack of cover, so Wenger will be hoping to have the Frenchman back next month at the very latest.
