Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has been ruled out of action for up to three months after a scan while on international duty with Germany revealed a knee injury, ESPN
Ozil was found to have suffered a partial tear of ligaments in his left knee and is understood to be facing a minimum 10 weeks on the sidelines. Ozil didn’t train while on international duty, having reported with the injury, and a scan in Munich showed the problem. The 25-year-old played the full 90 minutes of the Gunners’ 2-0 defeat against Chelsea on Sunday.
Arsenal’s record signing has made close to 50 appearances for the London club following a move from Real Madrid last summer, scoring eight goals. He spent three full seasons in La Liga, playing more than 150 times, previously representing Schalke and Werder Bremen in Germany.
Ozil has played more than 60 times for Germany and was part of the team that won the World Cup this summer in Brazil. Joachim Low’s side face Poland and the Republic of Ireland over the next round of international fixtures in qualifying for Euro 2016.
