Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho unimpressed with performances of his fringe players in last night’s League Cup

Following Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Shrewsbury in the Capital One Cup fourth round, manager Jose Mourinho revealed a selection of his fringe players underperformed, reports BBC Sport.

“I expect people that have not been playing a lot to raise their level and create problems. I love problems of choice, but it’s easy to choose my team for Saturday,” he said.

The likes of Andre Schurrle and Mohamed Salah considerably underperformed for the Blues in their league cup clash, and Mourinho has hinted that he won’t be making any drastic changes from his typical Premier League starting eleven.

Chelsea are unbeaten in all competitions, and are hoping to continue winning in all fronts. But Shrewsbury gave them a real scare, and it was Didier Drogba’s influence that proved pivotal for their win.
