Jose Mourinho has halted any possible move for veteran keeper Mark Schwarzer to former club Fulham after Petr Cech once again reiterated he is not happy to sit on the bench much longer, the Daily
The Australian shot stopper only joined Stamford Bridge last summer following his release from Fulham and was brought in as back up to former number one Petr Cech – he made 12 appearances in all competitions last season and successfully deputised when Cech was injured.
These displays earned a one year contract extension but the 42-year-old now finds himself third in the pecking order behind Petr Cech and new number one Thibaut Courtois.
Former club Fulham wanted to bring the Aussie back on an emergency loan deal for the rest of the season but have seen the bid rejected by Chelsea.
It seems Mourinho is well aware of the growing possibility of losing his former number one in January following a string of comments voicing his unhappiness at playing second fiddle.
In his latest interview Cech said he had ‘no time’ to sit on the bench if he wants to keep playing for his national side and appear at Euro 2016.
If that were to happen Schwarzer would be required to provide back up to Belgian Courtois for at least the rest of the season.
