Herrera: Man Utd attack the best in the world

Ander Herrera believes the strikes available to Manchester United – Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Radamel Falcao – means Louis van Gaal has the best group of forwards in the world, according to ESPN.

Herrera, a summer signing from Athletic Bilbao, believes that the club’s midfielders have to chip in with a few goals too, pointing to the amount of attacking quality in the department. The 25-year-old has two goals in his first four games for United, netting in the 4-0 home win over Queens Park Rangers and the 5-3 away defeat against Leicester City.

“I want to try to score more goals. It’s very important for the midfielders,” Herrera said. “I like assists as well and I think we have maybe the best three strikers in the world here in Rooney, van Persie and Falcao.

“Juan [Mata], Angel [Di Maria], Adnan [Januzaj], Daley [Blind], Fletch [Darren Fletcher] and me are all going to help them try to score, and if I score of course I’ll be very happy.”

Herrera netted nine times in his Athletic career, having played 109 times for the Basque club after a move from Real Zaragoza.
