Arsenal suffered yet another injury blow this week when defender Laurent Koscielny was released from French international duty with an Achilles problem, reports The
The French Football Federation released a statement claiming that Koscielny had been “suffering with chronic tendinitis of both Achilles tendons for several months”.
Despite this injury issue, Koscielny has still managed 11 appearances for the Gunners this season, and is still reported to be under consideration for selection for their match against Hull City next week.
The amount of game time Koscielny has been forced into seems partly due to lack of other options. Thomas Vermaelen and Bacary Sagna were sold during the summer, while new signing Mathieu Debuchy is also out injured at least until Christmas, and other defensive options Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal have both spent time on the treatment table already this season.
