Leicester vs West Brom – Premier League preview and team news

Leicester City will be searching for a first win in five Premier League matches as they welcome Midlands rivals West Bromwich Albion to the King Power Stadium.

The degree to which the hosts have gone off the boil since they stunned Manchester United in September has been quite remarkable, with the influence of forwards Leonardo Ulloa and Jamie Vardy having almost completely deteriorated in recent games.

They had very few chances of note in the recent away defeats to Newcastle United and Swansea City, but they will not be panicking ahead of this clash, which they will see as key against a side likely to be around them in the table.

West Brom have shown a gradual improvement in performance levels as the season has gone on, and they showed superb fighting spirit to come back and earn a point against Crystal Palace. That said, it was two points dropped in a game they will have entered expecting to win.

Disappointment followed in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday as they lost to Championship Bournemouth; a game which saw very few of the fringe players show Alan Irvine that they are worthy of a starting place in the Premier League.

Second choice goalkeeper Ben Hamer misses out for Leicester along with defender Matthew Upson. However, Wes Morgan should be fit enough despite picking up a knock.

Personal reasons may keep out Albion’s Claudio Yacob once again, and Silvestre Varela is still injured. Jonas Olsson is absent due to an Achilles problem.
