Manchester City winger Samir Nasri returns from injury ahead of Capital One clash against Newcastle

Manchester City winger Samir Nasri is back in contention for the Sky Blues following surgery on a groin injury, reports the Express.

The French international has missed City’s last eight games, but could well feature in their Capital One Cup clash against Newcastle tomorrow night. He is also likely to play against Manchester United the following weekend.

“Samir is working normally now and he is in the squad list. We will see tomorrow – I haven’t decided who will start yet. Samir is just coming back from an important injury. He is not ready for 90 minutes but I’m sure he will have some minutes on the pitch tomorrow,” said Man City manager Manuel Pellegrini.

The 27-year-old has only made 3 starts in the Premier League this campaign, but impressed in 2013/14. Nasri scored and created 14 goals in 34 league games last season.
