Lazar Markovic believes he has the Liverpool fans on side and is delighted to be playing alongside Steven Gerrard, but has asked to be given more time to show his best at the Premier League club, Sky
Markovic moved to Merseyside from Benfica over the summer and has to date made six appearances for the Reds without scoring. The 20-year-old started his career at Partizan Belgrade and spent a year in Portugal, making 39 appearances for the Lisbon side.
“You know how things go in football, I’m getting there and adjusting well,” Markovic told Mondo. “It will take a little more time but, all in all, I feel okay,” he continued. “I feel great there and everybody has been great with me. I could not wish for more. I’m happy and that is the most important thing.”
He added that playing alongside the likes of captain Gerrard is one of the highlights of his early Liverpool career, and that the home crowd have been particularly supportive. “My teammate is the legendary Steven Gerrard, the fans love me and Anfield is great,” he went on. “But, as I said, I just need a little bit more time.”
