Newcastle United will again be under pressure as they continue their search for a first Premier League win of the season against Leicester City on Saturday.
Despite the poor results, there are few signs that the Magpies’ squad is not playing for manager Alan Pardew, with plenty of hard work going into their away days at Stoke City and Swansea City, although they only came away with one point from a possible six. Papiss Cisse was again the man that Pardew had to thank after his second brace of the season, while summer signings Remy Cabella and Emmanuel Riviere have underperformed.
An excellent free-kick from Ross Wallace prevented Leicester from moving into the top half last time out as Burnley claimed a point at the King Power Stadium. It was a frustrating finish, but they will believe they have every chance of taking three points here, where the midfield battle is likely to be key, with the combative Cheick Tiote coming up against experienced campaigner Esteban Cambiasso.
Siem De Jong is a long-term absentee for Newcastle, who will also be without winger Rolando Aarons and full-back Davide Santon for a couple more weeks.
Leicester could make changes in attack for this game with Nigel Pearson having almost a full-fit squad available. Matthew Upson misses out due to a foot problem.
