Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard has revealed he will consider his future with the Merseyside club if they don’t offer him a new deal, reports BBC
“I won’t be retiring this summer. I will play beyond this season. We will have to wait and see if that’s at Liverpool or somewhere else. That’s Liverpool’s decision,” he said.
The former England international has struggled for form this season, and capped his England career with a miserable World Cup that saw the Three Lions exiting in the group stages.
Gerrard was outstanding in 2013/14, and came close to leading the Reds to a Premier League title, but the club as a whole haven’t come close to replicate such form this campaign. The 34-year-old’s contract is up in the summer, and his poor form has led to Liverpool holding off on a new deal.
There are plenty options for the one-club man, with (US) Major League Soccer, Indian Premier League, and even Italian Serie A as potential destinations for the midfielder.
