Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that midfielder Paulinho will not be leaving the club on loan in January, Sky
The Brazilian has been linked with a return to his former club Corinthians, who are said to be interested in a deal to bring him back due to his lack of game time at White Hart Lane. Since Pochettino took charge in the summer, Paulinho has fallen a long way down the pecking order and has not made a Premier League starting XI so far this season.
With the likes of Nabil Bentaleb, Mousa Dembele, Benjamin Stambouli, Etienne Capoue and Christian Eriksen all currently ahead of him in the pecking order, his future has appeared in some doubt, but Pochettino has made it clear that he wants to keep the 26-year-old in North London.
He said: “No, no Tottenham player, including Paulinho, will be loaned to Brazil. There is no chance. Paulinho arrived late, one of the last players to join the squad after the World Cup. There isn’t any problem. He is training and doing well, it’s just a technical decision (that he has made so few appearances).”
