West Brom 2-2 Crystal Palace: Albion come from behind to rescue a late point at the Hawthorns

A late-minute penalty from Saido Berahino rescued a point for West Brom, after Crystal Palace raced to a 2-0 lead in the first-half, reports BBC Sport.

The Eagles took the lead in the 16th minute through Brede Hangeland. The former Fulham centre-back volleyed home after his initial headed effort was blocked to give Crystal Palace an early advantage.

Palace had a penalty shout, with Wilfried Zaha appearing to be tripped by West Brom defender Craig Dawson, but the referee was unmoved.

Things went from bad to worse for the home side as they did eventually give away a penalty moments before the break. Yannick Bolasie was fouled by Sebastien Pocognoli, and Miles Jedinak made no mistake from the spot.

But after the break, changes made by West Brom saw them come back into the game. Substitute Victor Anichebe scored minutes after his introduction to halve the deficit for the Baggies, and an injury-time penalty from Saido Berahino – given for a foul by Miles Jedinak on Anichebe – saw Albion take a share of the spoils.
