West Ham’s Carl Jenkinson confident of getting a result against Manchester City on Saturday

Right-back Carl Jenkinson, currently on loan with West Ham United, has spoken to West Ham’s official website, and revealed he’s confident ahead of their weekend clash against defending champions Manchester City.

“I think we’ve shown we can beat the big clubs already this season with the Liverpool result,” he said. “We know what we’re capable of. Man City are flying at the moment, they’re a world class team so nobody is kidding themselves because we know it is going to be a difficult game.”

West Ham United have been the surprise package of the Premier League, with Sam Allardyce’s side having picked up 13 points from eight games. The Londoners have beaten Crystal Palace, Liverpool, Queens Park Rangers and Burnley this season, while drawing against Hull City.

United have won three of their last four games, and are hoping they can replicate such performances when Manchester City come to town on the weekend.

“If we play to our potential we know we’ve got more than a good chance of getting a result. We’ve just got to be positive and keep playing the football we’ve been playing, with the intensity and the confidence.”
