Anders Lindegaard to start in goal for Manchester United against Arsenal next weekend in place of injured David De Gea

Manchester United’s second-choice goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard is set to start against Arsenal with David De Gea injured, according to the Telegraph.

De Gea dislocated his finger while on international duty with Spain, and has been in outstanding form for the Red Devils this season, so his absence will be a big loss. United haven’t won away from home in the league, and their chances greatly diminish when De Gea isn’t between the sticks.

Anders Lindegaard will start in his absence, with the 30-year-old in the frame to make his first Premier League start in seven months. The Dane goalkeeper has made only one Premier League appearance since United’s 5-5 draw against West Bromwich Albion at the end of the 2012/13 season.

He will be busy next weekend, and needs to avoid conceding a similar amount of goals this time round.
