Arouna Kone to make first Everton appearance for 14 months

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has revealed striker Arouna Kone could feature in tonight’s Europa League clash against Wolfsburg, reports ESPN

Kone, 31, joined Everton from Wigan Athletic in July 2013, but suffered a lengthy knee ligament injury near the end of October that required surgery. Now he’s played in a reserve game with no problems, Kone could be given game time tonight against the Bundesliga outfit.

“We had really good news on Arouna. He participated in an Under-21s game yesterday and came through really well for 45 minutes. He is going to be part of the squad (tonight) and that is fantastic news. I saw him so free and mobile that I think he is now ready to be involved with the first team,” said the Toffees boss.
