Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez scored twice for the Londoners, as Burnley’s winless run continued in the Premier League this afternoon, reports BBC
Burnley were doing their best to frustrate Arsenal, by ensuring they weren’t leaving gaps in the defence for Arsene Wenger’s side to exploit. It worked well for the first 45 minutes of action, although the hosts were dominant throughout, and eventually their pressure told after the break.
After a goalless first-half, Arsenal finally broke the deadlock in the 70th minute. Alexis Sanchez headed home to give the home side the lead.
Minutes later, Calum Chambers doubled Arsenal’s lead, scoring from a corner.
Sanchez then grabbed his second and the Gunners’ third goal in the dying minutes of normal time, firing home inside the area to earn all three points for the home side.
The result sees Arsenal go fourth in the league table, while Burnley remain bottom of the pile, with no win in their 10 games.
