Arsenal fighting off competition to secure the signature of Seville midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak

According to the Express, Arsenal are locking horns with Borussia Dortmund to sign Seville midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak in January.

While Krychowiak joined the La Liga outfit only this summer, he’s quickly made a big impression with how the Europa League holders have started the season, and as a result has attracted interest from Europe’s elite.

Arsenal are in need of a quality holding midfielder due to injury and poor form to Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini, while Dortmund need a player who can stop them leaking so many goals in the German Bundesliga in 2014/15.

The Polish international, 24, has made 11 appearances for Seville this season, making 40 tackles and 34 interceptions in 910 minutes of La Liga football. Grzegorz Krychowiak has helped his side to three clean sheets, and only four goals conceded in their last six games.
