Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere out for three months following ankle surgery

According to Arsenal‘s official club website, midfielder Jack Wilshere will be out of action for three months after successfully undergoing ankle surgery.

The England international, 22, picked up the ligament injury in the 2-1 home defeat to Manchester United, and saw a specialist to discuss the best action to take. He’s now had surgery and will take around 12 weeks to recover fully, but he will be hoping he can finally put such injuries woes behind him on his return.

Wilshere has continued to have ankle problems throughout his career, and manager Arsene Wenger admitted his combative playing style leads to him picking up knocks on the regular as he’s always involved in the action. His absence will be a big blow, as his form has impressive this season, making up for the below-par showings from Aaron Ramsey.
