Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed striker Olivier Giroud has recovered in time to face Manchester United in some capacity this weekend, reports BBC
“Giroud is available. We have him back. It’s just a question of how ready he is. He is three or four weeks ahead of schedule. Originally we planned to have him back for competition at the beginning of next year. So he’s one month ahead. Slowly he will integrate into the team again and give us different options,” he said.
The French international, 28, has been missing from the first-team since picking up an injury in the 2-2 draw against Everton at the end of August. His return comes at a good time as the Londoners have been somewhat over reliant on summer-signing Alexis Sanchez to dig them out of a hole, with the Chilean scoring six of Arsenal’s last nine goals in all competitions.
