Arsenal’s Theo Walcott remaining patience after return from long injury layout

Arsenal forward Theo Walcott came off the bench in the Gunners‘ 3-0 win against Burnley on the weekend, he revealed he won’t get carried away, and will bide his time in regard to how many minutes manager Arsene Wenger affords him, reports Arsenal’s official website.

“It’s amazing to be back. (Burnley) was always in my head that I might get on and have a go. It was quite emotional. Everyone’s been very patient with me and they still need to be patient as it’s not going to happen overnight. It was such a great feeling,” he said.

Theo Walcott has been out of action for almost 11 months with an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained against Tottenham Hotspur at the start of the year, but he made a good impact on his return, and came close to scoring against Burnley too.

“I want to help this team but I’ll be patient and the boss will be as well. I just want to do what I do best and that’s just to enjoy playing football. I feel very quick, very strong and very powerful.”
