Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he always believed in Danny Welbeck’s ability, even though Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal didn’t, reports Sky
“I personally always respected Danny Welbeck and always believed he has a great future. What he has achieved in the past three months has made him one of the main players for England (and Arsenal). Louis van Gaal didn’t have Welbeck under his orders for a long time and you don’t always know the players that well after three or four weeks,” said Wenger.
Danny Welbeck has shone for the London this season. He netted a Champions League hat-trick last month, while scoring five goals in his last four Euro 2016 qualifiers for England. The 23-year-old has been praised by his new teammates, and appears to have fit in seamlessly with the Arsenal philosophy. Arsenal host Manchester United this weekend, with Welbeck set to start against his former club.
