Aston Villa and Tottenham charged by FA for failing to control players

According to BBC Sport, Aston Villa and Tottenham have been charge by the English Football Association for failing to control their players in Tottenham’s 2-1 win at Villa Park.

“Both Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur have been charged by The FA following their game on Sunday 2 November 2014. It is alleged that in or around the 66th minute of the game, the clubs failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion. Both clubs have until 6pm on 10 November 2014 to respond to the charge,” said the official FA statement.

The incident saw Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke given a straight red card for violent conduct, while Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason was perhaps fortunate to have stayed on the pitch, after pushing his face into Benteke before the Belgian retaliated.
