Atsu not regretting Everton move

Christian Atsu has insisted that he does not have any regrets over his decision to move to Everton on loan from Chelsea during the summer transfer window, the Liverpool Echo has reported.

When the deal was struck in late August, Chelsea requested assurances from the Goodison Park club that Atsu would command a fairly regular place in the team, but instead has managed just three starts so far despite injuries to key players at Everton, with the last of those coming away to FC Krasnodar in the Europa League on October 2.

He came on for the closing stages of Saturday’s 2-1 victory over West Ham United and is in the squad for the game against German side Wolfsburg on Thursday, but rumours have surfaced that Atsu is unsettled by a lack of first-team action.

But those claims have been denied by the Ghanaian, who said: “I don’t see my coming here as a mistake because I came here to get the experience I need in the Premier League.

“I have played some matches and I am still playing so I believe that with time I will get more playing time and silence my critics. I am happy here at Everton and I know that with time I will get into the first team.”
